so we walked arnd the cliff, saw some sheeps, cows and pigs!! haha that was super funny! i will post those pics nxt time. then we walked back towards the lodge. and there was a bench there. we were waiting for the sunset to come.... but at first it was like nothing....it was a very hazy and cloudy day...and it seemed like we wldnt see anything. mum wanted to leave. but nevertheless we sat and waited. four of us on the bench. jus chatting and laughing. and suddenly came this: isnt it jus amazing? my mum was so excited can. lol. anyway this picture doesnt do any justice at all. it was so breathtaking. the most amazing thing i've ever seen. so brilliant, so bright...so alive...it made me wonder so much. and i found myself thinking, is this not evident that some higher power exists? i took alot of pics of it. even a video lol... it was like the sun was submerging itself slowly into the abyss. check out this pic: spectacular. yups. alrighty. today in scoo something quite interesting popped up. i found out a few of my classmates actually know the song HIGH! cos one of them asked me whether i know LIGHTHOUSE FAMILY. and i was like isnt that the group that sang HIGH. she was actually quite surpised anyone even knew that song. and she jus heard it on radio that morning? and i was like sitting there telling them the story of how i heard HIGH in singapore? orientation II? hahah. okieee. my feet are numb. and i got chem test tmr. alcohols. and i got some maths hw to do. integration. haha. then i will go play PRO EVO 5!! (oh ya i bought in at tescos in cornwall!) enjoy the holidays!!! HAVE FUN! no more PW (soon...) and exams to worry bout!!
and ohh...happy halloween! hahaha yesterday we had ONE trick or treater!! or rather ONE set of two brothers. so cute can? they were small and they were wearing this black cloak/dress with a black hood that covered them entirely. and they had the mask from "scream" on. the white ghoul one!! then they knocked on our door, and said: "trick or treat!!" and jus stick their hands out with big open bags!! hahaha!!! and my mum jus took like a handful of candy and dropped it into both their bags...! LOL. i never ever imagined i would see a scenario like that. so it was pretty funny and yet cute la!!
okie anyway last week i was off to beautiful cornwall again for three days. I DIDNT realise the journey was so long. took like 7 hours. wah lau. DRIVE. can u imagine staying in the car for 7 hours! at least i got to sleep abit. can u imagine my dad? the driver? wah lau. sian la!!
alright...anyway along the way, on the motorway we passed by a signage that spelled out: "stonehenge"...boy was i properly shocked.
the historical stonehenge?
one of the wonders of the world?
the mysteriously stacked stones? built eons ago? when man had no machinery or proper tools?
I WAS SO LUCKY TO SEE IT. when the car went over a little hill and started coming down, i could see it from a distance. it was just mystical. and we took a little a detour and parked the car alongside it on the road for awhile. so i can take a few snapshots. and voila!!
amazing innit? i read abt it in books, seen it on documentries, but to see it with my own eyes, it was jus, amazing. there u have it...one of the wonders of the world.
so anyway it took forever but we finally arrived...and well i spent the rest of the night playing FM on my laptop. haha. that is boring stuff so i shant elaborate.
the next day, i went around town in cornwall, st ives. we drove to another city, and ate some wonderful fish and chips. we also walked around on the harbour and visited many shops. there were so many interesting stuff around. i took alot of pictures too...like this one!
i am pointing at the frenship band on my arm (TINA AND STEF!!! that was taken with u guys in mind!). haha. anyway go check out where isles of scilly is. it is a cluster of islands right at the bottom left of england. or south west if u are particular abt it. haha. it kinda reminds me of sentosa. small little off-shore island. not shure if its for recreation though.
anyway we had a cornish cream tea breakfast. which comprises tea with milk (or teh) and scones with clotted cream and jam (the most amazing thing in the world. trust me. i am thinking of bringing some clotted cream and scones back to singapore if i can. but i think it wld melt. IT IS OUT OF THIS WORLD). i also had a pasty! which like what rong said, is a subgroup of pastries. it is basically this super super big CURRY PUFF. that kinda shape. the traditional ones are filled with steak and potato. but nowadays there are mint lamp ones, there are vegetarian ones, etc. i had a chicken tikka one. chicken tikka is some indian chicken kinda dish. nice nice.
towards the evening, we got in the car once again. and travelled further down, right to the tip of england. to a place known as Land's End. it is the most beautiful place i hav seen. vv windy though. and i really mean vv windy. i actually struggled to open my car door against the wind. and it was freezing. my hair was blowing all over the place and even small signs were getting picked up by the wind and tossed around. sea breeze it was.
we walked some distance onto the cliff. there were tracks on it. and soon we come to a little ledge kinda thing. and i stood at the edge of a slope and took a pic...
can ya see the sign behind me? it says DANGEROUS CLIFFS. and can u make out that rocky structure in the waters? some sort of cliff thingey. it was beautiful. the waves were crashing big time into it. splashing around and spraying sea foam all over it. amazing. my jacket and my hair are both being blown by the wind to the right. haha. my hands were freezing there.
