oh well....sitting in the garden with my family and relatives typing this. They are like having scones and fruits and stuff. quite funny. considering how i always joked abt scones and earl grey tea. haha. but quite peaceful and nice. something u will never be able to do in singapore. the weather is quite nice...its very relaxing and invigorating. takes ur mind off things. andi got plenty to take my mind off in ya noe what i mean. aha.
thanks for coming to the airport everyone. it kinda reminded me that i still got frens in Singapore. yup. it was painful. i just hope all of us can get back into our normal groove soon...
well....essex's environment is nice. haha. like all houses. HDBs are like a thing of the past. got driveways, garages, ponds and gardens. it kinda reminds me of terrace houses. like those in singapore. in places like bedok and all that. just that when u look at the street YOU KNOW ITS ENGLAND. like there's an english feel. haha.
everyone here is so friendly and warm. VERY different from singapore. like when we went house-hunting. my goodness. here's a typical conversation:
dad: ooo u got a barbeque pit too eh...
englishman: yes yes...haha...
dad: that's very nice...
englishman: ooo definitely...its very nice...just that i dunno how to cook. hahha. its like....when ur food gets burnt...it looks nice and cooked doesnt it??
all: HAHAHA.
basically, everyone is vv chatty and frenly. yup. so well...thats pretty good. haha.
anyway just now i was at this diner place. and i was eating this chicken cutlet thing with peas and fries (the fries are fantastic. vv nice, but fatty. the peas are like shit. taste like vomit. the chicken cutlet...tasted like a big slab of chicken nugget). it cost like 4 pounds. anyway... lighthouse family's "high" came on the audio. HOW OFTEN U HEAR THAT PLAYED. OUR ORIENTATION TWO song. it was so nice. so sad. so nostalgic. so depressing. i just continued binge-ing on the fries and chicken...
ooo...my cousin's teacher jus joined us for tea. dunno why. so funny. this middleaged white-haired englishman. haha. his accent is wicked man. now everybody is drinkin tea and eating scones. so farnnie...
okie. jus now i went to visit two clubs. dam cool. i think the tennisers will like find this vv interesting.
first i went to "NEXT GENERATION club". my goodness. here are the fees for one year membership....inclusive of facilities' fees:
adult: 69 pounds
cadets (16-18 yrs) : 27 pounds
children: 27 pounds
one-time administrative fees (only for adults): 45 pounds
and thats quite cheap. quite a good deal considering u need not pay for the facilities' usage. check out the facilities:
swimming pools (indoor and outdoor).
gym (it is massive. SUPER BIG. with alot of good equipment. WORLD's STRONGEST MAN!!!).
indoor tennis court with carpet flooring.
outdoor tennis court with artificial GRASS flooring.
soccer pitch. complete with goal posts and stuff.
and lots more...bars...cinemas...and all that.
amazing isnt it. hahha....looks nice. hope things can start picking up.
thereafter....i went to this lawn tennis club near my house...its artificial grass again. but it looks really nice. social tennis club. the members meet in the wkend.....pick random opponents and they start playng...quite cool EH. but...there's a catch...you've to be of a certain standard. cos these clubs (including NEXT GENERATION) participate in winter leagues and county matches. my trials are scheduled this friday. the woman in charge (this nice sunny middle aged jolly woman) will see me hit balls with some younger kids and decide whether i am good enuff to hook up with the senior tennis grp...
oh well. hope i do well enough.
haha. my sis is like playing soccer with my cuzzie. he's this cute guy that is her age. lol. he's got this brit look. haha.
oh and i'm supposed to say that peiyu is vv glam and pretty....lol....Hahaha.
and somebody thinks my dad is MANLY!?!?! HMmmmm....
and i dun really the teens here. quite weird... like chains and stuff. that kinda thing. imagine. rappers and all. LOL.
